Augmenting the cPanel "Virtual Private Server Stack" with Video and Voice services is set to enable the Web Hosting industry to deliver turnkey office solutions in the Cloud
CommuniGate Systems' unveils a set of powerful technologies at the cPanel annual event in New Orleans September 30 – October 2nd 2013
25 September 2013, San Francisco, California and Berlin, Germany - CommuniGate Systems, the leader in secure, super-efficient, web and mobile Unified Communications technology unveils a set of applications within the 3rd generation of the open-source cPanel Adaptor kit for CommuniGate Pro. The new "Web Energy Stack" of applications is designed to augment and enhance the current "VPS cPanel Stack" that is typically deployed at Web Hosting companies. The new features are focused around Video, VoIP, Chat and an HTML5 based Webmail client called "Pronto!" that leverages WebRTC.
Web Hosting companies typically use a pre-defined "Stack of Applications" that spans various Web and Messaging technologies. Unfortunately, most of these Messaging products offer little or no value to the Web Hosting companies, and often create more work rather than providing any business revenues. The CommuniGate "Web Energy Stack" provides a massive improvement by providing exciting new features in a Freemium model that will generate new revenues, while dramatically reducing the work required to provide the "baseline" messaging services. The CommuniGate "Web Energy Stack" also provides a dramatic improvement in scaling density by supporting over 15x more users per virtual server when compared to the legacy application stack.
The Freemium "baseline" webmail services include the HTML5 Webmail Pronto! making entry simple, while giving end customers something new and exciting; plus the premium features can be used in the same Webmail, making value-add plans super easy to introduce. The premium features include a File Storage management service with encryption features, which provides an alternative to popular Cloud Storage services. As a bonus, most all premium services are included in the Freemium model for up to five users, making it super attractive for small businesses and start-ups moving to the Cloud.
The cornerstone to the new release is the "IP Centrex for VPS providers" technology; the first of its kind in the industry. With this technology, Web Hosting companies can deliver "Hosted IP PBX" services to any size business, all within the Virtualized cPanel management system. The system will allow businesses that are using Web Hosting companies' Cloud services to cut costs and increase productivity by having more mobility thru a Web and mobile-focused PBX system. Desktop PCs and phones are supported, but the trend towards mobility demands ever more focus on the Web and mobile device ecosystem.
The cPanel Adapter is a totally open source project, managed, maintained, and developed by a community of VPS hosting providers around the globe. The project is hosted at the GitHub Code site and VPS Hosting companies are encouraged to join and contribute to advance the technology for their own requirements and customer demands.
Features of the IP Centrex system included in the 3.0 kit release include:
- Setup of phone extensions
- Creation and management of Queues i.e. "support department" or "sales team"
- Certified for SNOM IP Phones with HD Voice
- Encryption for secure calls
- IPv6 support
- Pronto! HTML5 Webmail with WebRTC support for HD Voice calls
- Secure Instant Messaging and Chat rooms
- Email and Calendar services with Encryption features including Certificate Authority
- Pronto! "Native" Mobile Clients available in iTunes apps and Google play
* THE PRONTO! HTML5 CLIENT WITH WEBRTC FOR VOICE AND VIDEO CALLS
* The cPanel Management User Interface with the "Web Energy Stack powered by CommuniGate Pro"
CommuniGate Pro is installed jointly with the cPanel management system and runs entirely on the Virtualization server without additional external or dedicated hardware. This means hosting providers can deliver higher quality services, to more customers with zero additional hardware investments at scale. This is very important as Cloud providers begin to manage 1,000's of servers with a need for supreme efficiency to turn profits.
The open source cPanel Adaptor Kit delivers more than just outstanding performance, and is based on the latest 6th generation of CommuniGate Pro. The server provides powerful email groups, distribution lists, email encryption, groupware features like shared calendaring, secure instant messaging, chat rooms, file sharing, as well as client provisioning, lawful intercept, DKIM, desktop, web and mobile clients. It does all of this, and more, with fewer resources than any other email or VoIP technology holding all known credible benchmarks including SPEC.
